Imani Jubilee (Contemporary Worship)

A worship experience in the Black Church Tradition, where we celebrate the unity and diversity of God’s humanity from around the globe. All are welcome!

Every Sunday at 6:00 PM during the academic year in Manning Chapel.

Imani (Faith) - "To believe with all our heart in our Creator, our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders and the righteousness and victory of our struggle."

Imani Jubilee is a contemporary worship service in the Black Church Tradition which celebrates the Faith as Believers in Christ. It is an Interdenominational Contemporary Worship service that strives to incorporate worship styles from the variety of Christian traditions. The service is led by both chaplains and students with the Associate Protestant University Chaplain presiding. We host guest preachers, speakers, and orators during the annual Sankofa preaching Series, which is a time for intergenerational voices to proclaim God's goodness.

You are invited to worship and fellowship. Come. For ALL are welcome!

The invitation to worship is offered to all students, faculty and staff on campus as well as community members in Providence. We rejoice and praise God in a welcoming and affirming contemporary worship experience.

Special Services Include:

  • First Sunday Communion and Soul Food Service (Yes! Collard Greens, Gumbo, Ham, Macaroni and Cheese. Etc. )
  • Jazz "Come Sunday" Services Twice a Semester
