The Brown Card

General Information

You may wish to obtain a Brown ID card as another benefit of enrolling in a Brown Summer and Continuing Studies program.

The Brown Card is the official Brown University identification card. You may use it for identification, security and access to some University buildings and services including the Libraries. While on campus, you should carry it with you at all times.

You may obtain - or renew your card- only when you are enrolled in a class or study group. If you wish a Brown ID Card you must add the ID card option to your course selections and provide us with your SS# when you view or edit your account at the time of purchase. If you currently have a Brown ID card and wish to renew it please enter your 9 digit ID number (found above your picture on your ID card in the appropriate box on the on-line registration form when you view or edit your account at the time of purchase. After you  fill in the appropriate fields in the on-line the registration form and submit it with your course  allow for 5 business days to process and  go to the Brown Card Office to have your picture taken and to actually obtain your card.

Only the person to whom it is issued may use the Brown Card. You will be charged a $25.00 one time fee for issuing your card payable at the time of registration and ID card request. If your card is lost or stolen please contact the Card office immediately (401) 863-2273 during business hours, or to Brown Department of Public Safety at (401) 863-3322 during non-business hours. .If you wish to replace your card you will be charged a replacement fee.
