Brown's Pre-College summer programs expand that tradition to exceptional students from around the world who desire to challenge themselves both intellectually and emotionally.

Pre-College Summer@Brown allows exceptional high-school students to experience what life is like on an Ivy League campus. We offer a number of different Pre-college programs from late June through early August each year. Click on the program title for complete course descriptions, dates, fees and information.
Seven-Week Credit Courses are for rising seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence. Students in the Seven Week program take credit-bearing classes with Brown undergraduate students. Request Brochure
Mini Courses range from 1 to 6 weeks in length and allow students to delve deeper into subjects they enjoy or explore new topics that they may not have experienced in high school. All high school students may apply. Request a Brochure
Intensive English Language Courses offer all the benefits of the Pre-College Summer for students who do not speak English as their native language. Request a Brochure
The Leadership Institute teaches leadership skills in the context of environmental issues, trade, health, security, human rights, conflict and diversity. The Leadership Institute also runs the BELL program for environmental leadership.

Study in Hawaii

Brown has partnered with the Kohala Center and research institutions based in Hawaii to offer Pre-College students the opportunity to study environmental science, geology and volcanology on the Big Island. The Big Island of Hawaii is one of the most unique ecosystems in the world, with 11 of the earth's 13 climate zones accessible from one spot.
