How to Apply
A complete application consists of the following:
1) The Visiting Undergraduate Application for visiting undergraduates (Please select “THAPP”. If you are interested in enrolling in “The Creative Ensemble” for a second credit, please select TSDA 1280B as well.)
note for undergraduates: instructor permission is required to register for Theatre Apprentice. Registration will open for Brown Undergrads on April 1 in Self Service Banner (SSB).
2) A letter of recommendation from a teacher/director who knows your work. (Not required of students in Brown’s Department of Theatre, Speech and Dance.)
3) An official school transcript (Not required of Brown students.)
4) An on-site audition or a DVD video audition (see instructions below). Please choose two contrasting, age appropriate, 1 to 2-minute contemporary audition monologues. For an audition appointment or more detailed information on preparing your DVD audition, write to Lowry_Marshall@brown.edu.
Instructions for submitting your audition on DVD:
Please submit two (2) DVD-R disks (i.e. 2 identical disks). Your DVD must be readable on a Macintosh computer or on a standard American DVD player. It is imperative that you submit two copies of this audition. We also request that you clearly print your name on the DVD surface with a permanent marker. Please be certain to record your audition in DVD-R format. If you are having difficulty recording your audition, please notify our office, as your file will not be eligible for review by the Admissions Committee until your audition has been received.
Although applications for admission will be accepted until June 6, 2008, interested students are encouraged to apply early. Upon submission of ALL application materials, admission decisions are made as quickly as possible. Financial aid funds are limited; therefore, students applying for aid should apply early.
