The Office of the Dean of the College (DOC) includes deans and program directors who oversee all aspects of the undergraduate academic experience at Brown. We maintain programs in academic advising and course development. We promote independent and critical thinking through undergraduate research, tutoring and writing support. We encourage exploration of the world through fellowships, study abroad, internships, and public service. We promote a vision for life beyond Brown through career development. Together, our programs uphold the values of the Brown curriculum by helping students learn to think in a range of disciplines, to practice habits of self-reflection and empathy, and to develop the moral convictions that will guide them later in life.
