Ideas for DUG Events

If you can come up with an idea, we can help you plan it and fund it! Below are some successful events that DUGS have held in the past:

  1. Back to School Reception (reconnect and plan events for the year)
  2. Alumni Speaker
  3. Brown faculty forum
  4. Visiting faculty forum (perhaps combined with Brown faculty)
  5. Film screening (or outing) with casual conversation afterward
  6. Field trip (to local festival, political arena, arts center, heritage site, museum, etc.)
  7. Advising dinner with faculty
  8. Commencement “tea” or “garden” party
  9. Reading group
  10. Pre-registration party (ask your faculty to talk about courses they will offer next semester or next year)
