Finals, Advisor Confirmation, General Help
Dear first-years,
Final exams begin next Wednesday, May 9, and run through Friday, May 18. Residence halls close at noon on Saturday, May 19.
- Reminder: Final Exam Attendance Policy -
The Dean of the College Office is solely responsible for determining whether a student's absence from a final examination is excused. Students are excused from exams only for family or medical emergencies. (Please note that travel plans are never an excuse for missing a final exam.) Deans Stephen Lassonde, Kathleen McSharry, and Carol Cohen are the deans authorized to grant exam excuses.
- Sophomore Advisor Confirmation -
If you haven’t yet told us who your sophomore advisor will be, you must do so before you leave campus: http://apps.college.brown.edu/sophomore_advisor_request/
- General Help -
Academic deans will be holding open hours through Tuesday, May 8. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to stop by University Hall (M-F, 10-4) or Advising Central (M-F, 1-4). From May 9-18, come to the second floor of University Hall and we’ll make sure you get to see a dean.
Good luck on your exams!
The Advising Team
