Time Commitment

Time Commitment for Junior & Senior Mentors:

1. Attending the Inaugural Brunch – October 29th 
2. Speaking with your mentee on a monthly basis
3. Working with a team of mentors to organize an hour-long panel for mentees OR
4. Working with a team of mentors to organize and facilitate an hour-long focus group for mentees
5. Filling out Mid-Semester and End of year evaluation form
6. Attending a Mid-Semester Welcome Back Party – February 1st 
7. Attending Send Off Party - April 11th or 18th 

Time Commitment for Sophomore Mentees:

1. Attending the Inaugural Brunch – October 29th 
2. Speaking with your mentee on a monthly basis
3. Working with a team of mentors to organize an hour-long panel for mentees OR
4. Working with a team of mentors to organize and facilitate an hour-long focus group for mentees
5. Filling out Mid-Semester and End of year evaluation form
6. Attending a Mid-Semester Welcome Back Party – February 1st 
7. Attending Send Off Party - April 11th or 18th 

In order to get the most out of your MAPS mentorship, mentors and mentees are expected to fulfill all requirements and responsibilities laid out above.

2011-12 MAPS Timeline

• September 12th (First day of classes is September 7th) - Applications posted
• September 26th - Applications due
• October 3rd-11th (October 10th is a Fall Weekend Holiday) - Junior/Senior Mentors Interviewed
• October 13th- 16th - Decisions made
• October 16th- 18th - Decisions are sent out
• October 24th - Mentor/Mentee RSVPs due
• October 29th - Inaugural Brunch (Saturday)
• December 8th (First day of reading period) - Holiday Celebration
• February 1st (Classes resume January 25th) - Midyear Welcome Back Party
• April 11th or 18th - Closing Event

*We plan to have 1 panel before Winter break, and the other 3 upon return to campus second semester.

*We will hold focus groups 5 times throughout the program. Each mentee is required to come to one focus group. The dates will be set before the brunch and mentees will sign up at the brunch.
