Undergraduate Student Orientation Class of 2016
Congratulations on your admission to Brown University! Every part of our campus community—the faculty, the staff, and a legion of student peer advisors—looks forward to welcoming you on campus this coming fall.
Orientation, which is required for all students, begins Saturday, September 1. If you are studying at Brown on a visa, you should arrive on Wednesday, August 29, to participate in international orientation. Any student who identifies as international, regardless of citizenship or residency, is welcome to register for this program.
We also offer free pre-Orientation programs that are optional. These programs have limited space and require application or pre-registration. Whether you are a first-year student, a transfer or visiting student, or a Resumed Undergraduate Education student, Orientation will help you acclimate to Brown’s distinctive living and learning community.
We have planned Orientation with four primary goals in mind:
- To help you learn about the nature of liberal education at Brown;
- To familiarize you with Brown’s campus environment and the various offices, resources, clubs, and activities;
- To facilitate getting to know your classmates;
- To introduce you to Brown’s expectations about how to live and learn as individuals productively and respectfully in your new community.
