Supplemental Grants
RAB Grants. Undergraduates at Brown may apply for RAB grants to support an independent research project. Students can request up to $500 of funding to purchase research materials, travel to libraries or archives, or attend scholarly conferences. Grants are awarded by committee twice a year, following a Fall and Spring application deadline. For 2007-08 academic year, the deadlines are:
November 15, 2007 and February 21, 2008
Please note: RAB grants are intended to support projects or plans that are in progress. Awards are not made retroactively for travel already taken or expenses already incurred.
Dean's Discretionary Grants. The Dean of the College will consider special requests to fund projects that do not fall in the ordinary categories. Students will normally have exhausted all other sources before seeking support from the Dean. Those interested will prepare an informal proposal, and make an appointment to speak with Dean Bergeron during her open hours on Wednesday afternoon.
