Tutoring

Individual & Group tutoring requests will open February 1. Group sessions will start February 3.

Brown's Dean of the College Office provides academic support services that supplement the support provided by course instructors. Students are encouraged to visit faculty and TAs during office hours, to attend problem sessions, and to access other departmental resources for learning, whether or not they are experiencing academic difficulty.

We offer a blended model of tutoring: group tutoring for many introductory and intermediate math, science and economics courses; drop-in tutoring at the Science Center; individual tutoring for languages; and individual tutoring for students at risk of receiving a "C" or below in select courses. We also offer individual, confidential appointments for students to meet with peer academic coaches to help identify and strengthen study skills, and workshops to address many of the difficulties students encounter in college.

Tutoring is offered in the classes to the right. Individual tutoring is available in certain languages and by application in other select courses.
To apply for individual tutoring, click on the tab on the left. Students who are experiencing academic difficulty in courses that are not supported by the DOC should meet with a dean at University Hall or Advising Central for guidance.
