City Licenses

If your event meets any of the following criteria, you will need a license from the city for your event:

  • Entertainment events (concerts, etc.) where money is being collected that are open to the general public.
  • Events with alcohol where money is being collected at the event (donations, alcohol sales, ticket sales, T-shirt sales, etc.).
  • Outdoor events that can reasonably be expected to potentially disrupt the neighboring community.

License requirements for student events are reviewed as part of the event registration process.

Departments should consult the Conference Services Office or the Department of Public Safety for advice on license requirements. If a caterer or bartending service is providing the alcohol, please consult with them about how the license is being obtained.
