Great American Smokeout is Nov. 18

If you smoke, quit. And if you don't smoke, don't start.

To help you kick the habit, this year's Great American Smokeout will take place Nov. 18. That day at Brown, free information will be available at Health Services, and at a table by the post office in Faunce House from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The annual Great American Smokeout is designed by the American Cancer Society to help smokers quit cigarettes for at least one day, in hopes that they will quit forever. More people quit smoking on this day than any other day of the year. The society also hopes that the event will raise smokers' awareness of the many benefits to be gained by quitting smoking - not just on this one day, but at any time.

Sponsors of the smokeout on campus include the Student Health Advocacy Board, the Office of Health Education and the American Cancer Society.
