Registration for Brown Courses (Special Student Status)

Course Fee for Academic Year 2009/2010: $4,756
REGISTRATION PROCESS
Special students taking job related courses must complete the following steps to be formally registered for a Brown course:
- Complete and submit an EEP Application for course approval. Attach the course description and one copy of the EEP application.
- Complete and submit a Special Student Application from the Office of Continuing Education.
- Schedule an appointment to register as a special student as follows:
- Contact Lianne Mendonca at the Office of Continuing Education located in the Graduate Center, Tower E, 96 Thayer Street (between Charlesfield and Power Streets).
- Appointments will take place 9 am to 5 pm only on the following days:
- Wednesday, January 20, 2010.
- Thursday, January 21, 2010.
- Tuesday, January 26, 2010.
- Once you have picked up your registration packet and to complete your registration process, you will be sent to the Registrar's Office which is located at J. Walter Wilson Student Services building, 69 Brown Street.
Important Dates for the Fall 2009 Semester:
January 22, 2010 – Classes begin
February 9, 2010 – Last day to add a course without a fee (not covered by the EEP)
February 24, 2010 – Last day to change a grade option
March 12, 2010 (mid-semester) – Last day to drop a course without penalty
If you are enrolled in a non-degree job related course, you will be charged a penalty fee under the following circumstances if you:
- Drop the course after the drop deadline date.
- Do not pass the course with a grade of C or better, satisfactory, or pass.
Degree candidates must notify the Graduate School and Academic Advisors of any impending interruption in course work.
After the completion of your course, the Registrar’s Office will forward a copy of your grade report to the Benefits Office.
