Managing People
Overview
Managers and supervisors set the climate for employees. Trust, openness, knowledge, resources and a shared responsibility are essential to managing people. Many are able to use their own resources to address questions and concerns. However, it is often helpful to seek a different and fresh professional perspective. For this reason, the Human Resources Department has provided you with a number of resources to increase your awareness of a number of services available to Brown employees.
Since eligibility of these resources may depend on employee type, percent time worked, and other factors, you may wish to contact the Human Resources Department at 3-3175. Human Resources will listen carefully and confidentially to help individuals identify and analyze problems. Human Resources will help you to brainstorm possible solutions, assess the risks and rewards associated with each solution and provide information based on past situations and on Brown’s policies and practices. Human Resources will help assist you in considering which course of action may best suit the individual circumstances.
