Staff Advisory Committee's Year in Review
The Staff Advisory Committee recently released a list of its
accomplishments for 2006. The list included:
creating and posting to its Web site profiles of
staff members who received Excellence Awards;
creating an online survey of staff energy use, the
results of which were shared with Facilities Management;
creating a Brown Employee and Recognition Day survey to
obtain feedback about the event. The results were shared with the Center for
Learning and Professional Development;
after soliciting applications and interviewing
candidates, recommending Tim Thorp, manager of education at CIS, for the staff
vacancy on the University Resources Committee;
setting up deposit areas to help collect pull-tabs to
benefit Ronald McDonald House;
developing the budget for an e-mail kiosk project,
which will provide computer access to Brown staff members without desks;
organizing the Rebuilding Together volunteer project at
the Groden Center Greenhouse. The center helps children and adults with autism
and related disorders;
creating a "Welcome New Employee" letter.
