Graduate Students International Travel Fund
The Graduate Students International Travel Fund is available to full time Brown graduate students for assistance in meeting the costs of one professional trip per academic year. The travel stipend can be used for a trip to deliver a paper at an international conference. The Travel Fund is not designed to cover field work.
It is understood that the graduate student’s signature to this request attests to the fact that no funds, or insufficient funds, are expected to be available to the student from other sources during the academic year for which this request is made. The recommendation of the student’s advisor signifies that this state of affairs is correct, to the best of her or his knowledge. It is expected that the applicant will supplement the International Affairs travel stipend with funds from other sources.
In addition to the attached expense form the application should include the following
- For speaking engagements - Letter of invitation and conference program
- Any other relevant information regarding the relationship between this trip and the student’s academic trajectory
The Requests for a stipend may be made at any time during the academic year by contacting the Graduate Student International Travel Fund at Box 1919, or you may drop off an application at Watson #229.
