PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Brown University's theater department will stage Anton Chekhov's classic drama Three Sisters, beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 11, in the Stuart Theatre of the Catherine Bryan Dill Center for the Performing Arts, 77 Waterman St. The run will continue at 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday, March 12-14, and Thursday through Saturday, March 18-20. A 3 p.m. matinee will be offered Sunday, March 21.

Written in 1901, Three Sisters is considered one of Chekhov's best works. The play follows the lives of the wealthy Prozorov sisters - Olga, Masha and Irina - and their many friends as they spend their days prating about seemingly unimportant everyday happenings. Disillusioned with provincial living, the trio longs to return to the hustle and bustle of metropolitan life in Moscow.

Directed by Spencer Golub, the cast includes Adam Arian, Laura Chen, Alison Cimmet, Michael Crane and Susan Deily-Swearingen. The production also features Christopher Hayes, Victor Holtcamp, Harry Kellerman, T.J. Morton, Katherine Powell, Caroline Sharman, Bryan Tallevi, Paco Toslon and Taylor White.

The technical crew includes set and lighting designs by John Lucas and costume design by Philip Contic. Jasmine Syedullah is the stage manager and technical direction is by William Roche.

Tickets are available at the Dill Center Box Office: $13 for the general public, $9 for senior citizens and University employees, and $5 for students. Box Office hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and one hour before each performance. For more information or to make reservations, call (401) 863-2838.
