PROVIDENCE, R.I. — High school students and their parents, high school teachers and guidance counselors are invited to visit with representatives of more than 50 colleges and universities from around the country during the Ninth Annual Brown University Summer College Fair. The event will be held on Friday, July 14, in Sayles Hall on The College Green, between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Colleges and universities that have confirmed their attendance include Dartmouth College, Smith College, Sarah Lawrence College, Boston College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Swarthmore College and Lehigh University.

“We’ve learned that this is the only college fair in New England in the summer,” said Karen Sibley, dean of Brown’s Office of Summer Studies, which is sponsoring the fair. “Students who will be entering ninth, tenth and eleventh grades should be encouraged to begin the eye-opening experience of looking at colleges – and this fair is a great way to start. After looking at the literature and talking with college representatives, they can begin making their school review travel plans.”
