PROVIDENCE, R.I. — At noon Thursday, March 22, 2001, seventy-two students in the Brown Medical School Class of 2001 will receive their residency appointments.

Known as Match Day, this event will take place in the student lounge of the Bio-Med Building (enter through the terrace level at the southeast corner of Brown and Meeting streets). Reporters and photographers are welcome to attend.

Match Day takes place at the same time on the same day for all graduating U.S. medical students. The students receive letters from the National Residency Matching Program telling them where they will be serving their residencies. The ceremony marks the entry of medical students into the world of medicine.
