News Advisory Public meeting to gather comments on Brown’s Life Sciences Building In accordance the National Historic Preservation Act, the Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission will host a public meeting to discuss Brown University’s Life Sciences Building project. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in the Saunders Inn Conference Room, 101 Thayer St. PROVIDENCE — In accordance the National Historic Preservation Act, the Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission will host a public meeting to discuss Brown University’s Life Sciences Building project. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at the Saunders Inn Conference Room in the Vartan Gregorian Quadrangle, 101 Thayer St. on the Brown campus. Brown plans to construct the Life Sciences Building adjacent to the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Building on the block bounded by Meeting, Olive, Thayer and Brown streets. The project will require the removal of three buildings: 185 Meeting St., 201 Meeting St. and 60 Olive St. The purpose of the Nov. 28 meeting is to receive comments from the interested public with regard to the potential effect that the University’s proposed Life Sciences Building may have on the College Hill National Register District.
