Brown in the United Kingdom - Resources
Brown Office in London
Brown shares an office in London with Cornell and Penn. Students from these three institutions use the Centre as a resource. The Director, Liz Simpson, and Assistant Director, Sue Welsford, arrange a wide variety of activities for students and handle admissions to all UK institutions for OIP.
Arriving students are invited to "Welcome" sessions hosted by Liz and Sue in London (Autumn and Spring), Scotland (Autumn and Spring), and Oxford (Autumn only). In addition they arrange at least one site visit outside of London each semester. Liz and Sue provide Brown students with cultural stipends and also arrange for special discounted tickets for cultural activities and group excursions, send a newsletter to all students, and offer plenty of warm and friendly assistance. The Centre includes a comfortable room with computers and general information, quiet work areas, as well as a regular supply of tea and coffee.
