Congressman Jim Langevin Visits Brown

On November 26, 2007, Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) came to Brown for a tour of the Sidney Frank Life Sciences Building. The tour was led by Alpert Medical School Dean, Eli Adashi, and Vice President for Research, Clyde Briant. The MRI facility was the first stop on the tour. From there the tour moved to Assistant Professor Jeffrey Laney’s lab, where the Congressman got a sense for some of the basic research being conducted. Finally, Dr. Ed Hawrot gave a brief presentation on personalized medicine, and the planned work here at Brown in that area.
