129 Angell Street (left) and 127 Angell Street.
Brown University is in the process of planning for a new academic building on Angell Street. To ensure that the existing historic fabric currently occupying the site is not lost, Brown proposes to sell the houses at 127 and 129 Angell Street for Ten Dollars ($10.00) each. The sale will be contingent upon the ability of the applicant to remove the structure(s) before July 31, 2009, preserve the historic building exterior, and enhance the destination street and neighborhood. Brown University will contribute a total of 1-million dollars to help defray the cost of transporting the building(s) to an acceptable site.
