Standing Committees

Below is a list of standing committees that are chaired by the Provost or coordinated by the Provost's Office and charged with advising the academic leadership of the university in matters pertaining to academic priorites and resource allocations.

The Academic Priorities Committee is responsible for making recommendations to the President concerning the general direction of academic programs.

 

The Internationalization Committee is charged with advising on strategic initiatives to help further establish the international visibility and prominence of Brown University.

Committee on the Slavery/Justice Research and Teaching Initiative is charged with familiarizing itself with available resources and recommending scholarly activities which will expand and enrich Brown.

 

The Space Committee is responsible for making allocation and renovation recommendations in support of the university's institutional priorities.

 

The Taskforce on Undergraduate Education review the current state of the College
and make recommendations for the future.

 

The University Resources Committee (URC) is responsible for recommending the annual operating and capital budget to the President.

 

The Working Group on Graduate Education will address immediate needs and long-range plans for graduate programs at Brown.
