About The Associate Provost

As Associate Provost, Pam O'Neil is responsible for oversight and review of a number of academic programs, policies, and space planning related to the academic mission of the University and to new faculty appointments. This includes responsibility for the support and oversight of several centers and initiatives in the sciences, such as the Environmental Change Initiative, the Center for Computational Molecular Biology, and Brown's affiliation with the Marine Biological Laboratory.

She staffs the Provost's space committee, chairs the scheduling policy committee, and represents the Provost on the strategic growth team, and planning and design committees for capital projects. Pam works closely with the Office of the Vice President for Research, is a member of the research advisory board, and the research compliance network. Pam O'Neil is also the Principal Investigator and Program Director of the NSF funded ADVANCE program at Brown. This program will provide faculty development programs, initiate a leadership program for department chairs, and support women scientists at Brown.
