Building Security &Technical Services Bureau



The Building Security & Technical Services Bureau is the nexus of all the department’s technological operations and as well as communications and security for the University community. Staff in the BSTSB play a critical role in ensuring that Brown's facilities are safe and secure. Functional areas included but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance of Card Access Control – a large campus system of over 900 card readers
  • Oversight of University building alarm accounts
  • Access control and alarm monitoring
  • Oversight of CCTV
  • Maintenance of department fleet management
  • Officer equipment distribution
  • Key control
  • Oversight of Communications Center operations, equipment, and personnel
