CRIME ALERT - ROBBERY
September 8, 2009

The Brown University Department of Public Safety is informing the Brown Community of a robbery which occurred on Tuesday, September 8, 2009,at approximately 1:30am.

Incident

At approximately 1:30am a Female student reported being robbed while walking near the intersection of Lloyd Avenue and Hope Street.

The victim stated that while walking east on Lloyd Avenue, approaching the corner of Hope Street, she noticed a silver sedan vehicle occupied by three females stopped at the red light at the corner of Hope Street and Lloyd Avenue. The three females exited the silver vehicle and approached the victim from behind. They pushed her to the ground and demanded her cell phone and bag. The females suspects left the scene in the silver vehicle heading north on Hope Street.

Suspects

The victim described the suspects as the following; Three Hispanic females, in their early twenties, between 5'4” and 5'7” in height and heavier set. The vehicle was described as a smaller silver sedan with unknown Rhode Island plates.

The area was searched by the Providence Police Department and Brown Public Safety with negative results . Providence Police Department is conducting the investigation. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Providence Police Department at 272-3121 or the Brown University Department of Public Safety at 863-3322. CRIME ALERT - ROBBERY
August 27, 2009

The Brown University Department of Public Safety was informed by the Providence Police Department of a robbery which occurred on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at approximately 2:50am.

Incident

At approximately 2:50am a male student reported being robbed while walking near the intersection of Pitman Street and Ives Street.

The victim stated that while walking he observed two males walking towards him on either side of Pitman Street. The male on his side of the street displayed a handgun and demanded his wallet. The suspects then fled the area on foot down Ives Street towards Waterman Street.

The victim did not sustain any injuries.

Suspects

The victim described the suspects as the following; the assailant with the handgun was a black male, approximately 5'8”, medium build, wearing shorts, a black tee shirt and a gray motorcycle helmet with the visor open. The other assailant was a black male, approximately 5'8”, heavy set, wearing a red tee shirt.

The area was searched by the Providence Police Department with negative results. The Providence Police Department is conducting the investigation. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Providence Police Department at 272-3121 or the Brown University Department of Public Safety at 863-3322. Any information provided will be kept confidential.
