Laptop Safety
It's 4:00p.m. Do you know where your laptop is?
Thousands and thousands of dollars worth of laptops are reported stolen each year here at Brown. Believe it or not, just following these steps can prevent a larceny of your laptop:
- Never leave your laptop unattended in the library, backpack, or anywhere for that matter. Not even for a few minutes.
- Never leave your laptop in an unsecured office, dorm room, or class room.
- Purchase a laptop alarm device at the Brown Bookstore. The cost of this motion sensor-type alarm is $40.95 plus tax. It is worth the investment.
Engrave your laptop via the DPS Crime Prevention Operation I.D. program. Call Crime Prevention Officer, Mark Perry, at (401)863-1438 for an appointment.
