Thousands and thousands of dollars worth of laptops are reported stolen each year here at Brown. Believe it or not, just following these steps can prevent a larceny of your laptop:

Never leave your laptop unattended in the library, backpack, or anywhere for that matter. Not even for a few minutes.
Never leave your laptop in an unsecured office, dorm room, or class room.
Purchase a laptop alarm device at the Brown Bookstore. The cost of this motion sensor-type alarm is $40.95 plus tax. It is worth the investment.
Engrave your laptop via the DPS Crime Prevention Operation I.D. program. Call Crime Prevention Officer, Mark Perry, at (401)863-1438 for an appointment.
