Designed to give a background in economic theory plus the mathematical tools needed to analyze and develop additional theoretical constructions. Emphasis is on the abstract theory itself.
d. At least three other 100-level economics courses. Of these three courses, at least two must be chosen from the "mathematical-economics" group. This group comprises EC 117, 147, 164, 175, 185, 186, and 187.
a. At least two calculus courses through MA 18 or its equivalent
b. Linear algebra (MA 52 or 54)
c. Either option A or option B as follows:
Option A is MA 161, MA 162, plus one course from the "advanced mathematics" group (see below).
Option B is AM 165, plus two courses from the "advanced mathematics" group (see below).
The "advanced mathematics" group comprises MA 101, 111, 112, 113, and 114.
