Stephen Robert '62 Campus Center at Faunce House

“The Stephen Robert ‘62 Campus Center will foster greater interaction among Brown’s extraordinary students, and exceptional faculty and staff. This will help achieve our plan for academic enrichment by building a shared sense of community. I am particularly happy that the Campus Center will invigorate student life.”

- Stephen Robert '62

Thanks to the generosity of Stephen Robert '62 and several anonymous donors, the University will renovate Faunce House and create the new Stephen Robert ’62 Campus Center. Schwartz/Silver Architects have been selected to design the center, which is currently scheduled to be completed in 2010.

Community Input

The participation of students, faculty, and staff in the life and activities of the Stephen Robert '62 Campus Center at Faunce House will be instrumental to its success -- not only after it opens but also throughout the planning process.

During the spring 2008, community forums were held with the following groups: Undergraduate Council of Students (February 13 and April 30), Medical School Student Senate (March 4), Religious Life Associates (April 1) and Religious Life communities (February 13), Graduate Student Council (March 5), and the Brown University Activities Council (April 30).

We also attended meetings of the Campus Life Advisory Board, Staff Advisory Committee, Subcommittee on Alcohol and Other Drugs, Third World Center, the Queer Alliance, and the administrative offices to be housed in J. Walter Wilson.
