Susan A. Buffum ’74, WLC member, longtime volunteer, and Brown Annual Fund supporter, has made her first endowed gift. Susan established a Chancellor’s Scholarship to ensure that future qualified students will have financial aid sufficient to embrace all Brown has to offer. Learn more about her story here. The Ruth J. Simmons Women's Leadership Scholarship
In May 2012, Susan P. Friedman '77, P'08, founding member and Chair Emerita of the Women's Leadership Council, issued a $1 Million Challenge to establish the first-ever
Ruth J. Simmons Women's Leadership Scholarship.


During the Friday evening gala of the Women’s Leadership Conference, Susan P. Friedman ’77, P’08 announced a $1 million challenge to establish the first-ever Ruth J. Simmons Women’s Leadership Scholarship. All money raised will help to bring capable and qualified women to Brown.

Friedman encouraged support of this scholarship by stating:  “We, the women of Brown, can and will make this happen!”
