HUCK A HUNK O' BURNIN' PUMPKIN Recap

Our tournament was changed drastically with the high amounts of rain on Saturday. Our field site in Bristol canceled on us, which left us only able to host a Sunday only 4 team round robin on the turf behind the OMAC. It was a very successful day for us. We easily handled UMass and Wesleyan, beating them 15-7 and 15-5, respectively. Our game against Harvard was a 'showcase' game. We had a sizable contingent of fans sitting in the stands of BFF, including large numbers of alumni (one alumnus who came this weekend was from class of '76!). Unfortunately, they watched us go down 2-6 very quickly. Lots of sloppy play early on allowed Harvard to capitalize on our mistakes. We traded points to bring it to 3-7, and then refocused and refused to turn the disc over as we went on a small run to close the gap and bring it to 6-7. They then scored to take half 6-8. We carried the momentum from before the half and scored easily on our first possession, 7-8. Our increased defensive intensity and relentless cutting clearly tired out the Harvard players, and we were able to run away with the game in the second half to win 15-12 against a very good regional rival. Overall, a great weekend. Thank you for all the alumni who came!

Unfortunately, this only gave BMo a chance to put up two official wins against Princeton and NC State. Check out the photos page for a slice of the action, brought to you by Rick Lebeau.
