![]() Back to Index of Newsletters April 11, 2003 For weather related reasons, UMASSacre has been cancelled. We are disappointed that we are missing out on an opportunity to play ultimate. I’m particularly disappointed because the tournament was to be held in my hometown. I was looking forward to having my parents and brother meet, cook for, and watch my teammates play this weekend; unfortunately that’ll all have to wait until Regionals. On the positive side of things, this weekend is Spring Weekend. We were going to miss out on the festivities, but now we’ll be around. It’s not going to be the traditional, picture perfect, Spring Weekend celebration this year. For those of you who don’t live in the northeast or aren’t avid weather channel viewers, spring has yet to grace New England; the forecast is for cold and rainy conditions and the concerts are going to be held at the hockey rink. But it’s still Spring Weekend at Brown and is going to be a great time. In other exciting news, we’re rebuilt our website. Francesco Forin ’06 did a fantastic job building an aesthetically pleasing and functional new website for us. Check it out at: www.brown.edu/Athletics/Mens_Ultimate The website is complete with updates, photos, soon-to-be complete roster, player bios, achieved Zip’s Tips and the email newsletter, and with your help an alumni roster. Francesco will be in charge of this, see the link on the homepage for details. Next weekend the college series starts with Sectionals at Wesleyan. We go into the college series having only played two teams from our region all year and having yet to have had a practice on grass. The weather related struggles of this season point to the importance of our travels to California and North Carolina. We’re grateful for the financial and other assistance that makes these trips possible, and we hope that you’ll continue to support our travels. Expect an email Thursday or Friday of next week to prep for the start of the College Series. Sincerely, |
