Hello Everyone!

I hope that everyone is doing really great. I’m taking over for my dear brother Neale as the Alumni Relations Director for B-Mo so you’re sure to receive many messages from me in the upcoming months.

I have many wonderful (I think!) things do say, so without further adieu…

1 - Fall Season Wrap: B-Mo had a great fall, going undefeated against college teams and winning at Purple Valley and our wonderful Huck-a-Hunk home tourney (thanks to all the alums who came back and relived their glory days and made it really, really fun). The team also made the finals at UMass and qualified for Club Regionals, which we did not attend. On an interesting side note, when B-Mo faced off against club team DoG at Club Sectionals I found myself completely at sea; I was currently an injured member of DoG and also a member of B-Mo and so resorted to just wandering up and down the sidelines and scratching my mop-haired head and cheering when nobody was looking as I didn’t want to offend any teammates. In other tournament news, seven B-Mo-ers competed at a Savage Seven (no subs! Aaahhhh!) tournament in Atlanta this winter and learned what being tired really feels like.
2 - Spring Preview: After our semifinal finish at Nationals last May we are really excited about this upcoming season. With a senior-laden team (we’ve got 11) we’ve got a wealth of experience and we’re looking forward to pitting ourselves against the best in the country (see schedule below). We’re currently busy waking ourselves from winter hibernation (we are Brown Bears after all) and are involved in weekly track workouts and biweekly group skill and agility sessions. We practice throwing and sprinting and do various silly – but effective mind you! –  jumping and balancing maneuvers. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to get outside yet as it’s quite frosty in Providence. However things are looking up in this area as Brown has newly installed a high-tech ‘Grasstroturf’ field that’s playable in the winter and is much softer and more grass-like then the roof. It’s also far less windy as it’s out back of the OMAC rather then way up in the sky.
3 - Spring Schedule: This is also available on our newly updated website (thanks Mike Pozar!) www.brown.edu/Athletics/Mens_Ultimate/.

March 5-6 Stanford Invite, Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA
March 19-20 Centex, University of Texas,Austin, TX
March 26-27 Ultimax, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC
(Look for Yale Cup to take place sometime in April and UPA Sectionals soon afterwards.)
May 7-8 UPA Regionals, Location TBD
May 27-29 UPA Nationals, Corvallis, OR

So I guess I’ve blabbered on a bit but I hope I’ve been helpful too. As you can see things are looking really awesome for the spring and so forgive me for getting carried away. Best wishes to all and hopefully we’ll get to see many of you this spring. Oh, and on that note, please respond to this email with questions/comments and introduce yourself to me at tournaments (I’m the 6’6’’ mop-haired one who’s always smiling (except when I’m angry)).
