![]() Back to Index of Newsletters April 21, 2006 Friends, Romans, Country(men and women), lend me your ears (or eyes, as the case may be)- Get excited: the UPA College Series begins tomorrow!!! BMo will play at the South New England Sectionals this weekend in Middletown, CT (at Wesleyan University). BMo enters seeded #1 and is looking to advance to New England Regionals while improving on fundamentals- good ol' dump/swing offense and hard marks. BMo will be joined by PFunk (Brown-B) and CFunk (Brown-C), who will both be playing in their biggest tournament of the year so far. PFunk enters as the 5th seed with a 6-11 record. With four bids to Regionals, PFunk will look to break seed and join BMo at New England Regionals for the second year in a row. Their pool is an all-Rhody pool, with Roger Williams, URI, and Bryant College. If PFunk can un-seat RWU for the top seed in their pool, look for a BMo-PFunk matchup on Sunday morning (for the second-year in a row). CFunk enters with a 5-9 record, including two bagel-victories against Boston College B (11-0) and Clark B (13-0). CFunk also boasts a victory against an A-squad, Providence College. CFunk will look to earn more victories against A squads, with Conn College, Yale, and Hartford rounding out the four-team set. The tournament schedule (subject to change) can be found here: http://www3.upa.org/scores/tourn.cgi?div=18&id=2345 . If you are around this weekend, you should definitely come and see us. If you can't make it, think about coming to Regionals in two weeks. We could really use your support. Lastly, I am saddened to say that our fundraising has lagged a bit as the spring has progressed. While we started out with lots of donations (early and often), we are now receiving donations at a trickle. Ironically, it is this point in the season where your donations count the most. With Nationals just over a month away, your support is critical. As always, you can support us here: www.sportsfoundation.brown.edu by selecting men's ultimate.
