POSITION
DESCRIPTIONS
Title: Front Desk Attendant
Location: Olney-Margolies Athletic Center
Range of Possible Scheduled Hours: 6:00am
-12:00am (Monday-Sunday)
Pay Rate: $8.00/hour
Supervisor: OMAC Building Manager
Minimum
Qualifications:
-Student must have effective verbal and written communication
skills.
-Students must be able to effectively verbally enforce
building rules & policies when needed.
-Students must be highly dependable.
Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Prefer to hire students who have experience working in
the customer service industry. Building Management background
is a plus, but not required.Skills Gained From This Position:

General Responsibilities:
The front desk attendant / greeter reports to the Building
Manager and shall assist the Building Manager with enforcing
the rules and policies of the building. The attendant
will assume a supervisory role in the absence of building
management.
Specific
Duties:
1. Responsible for answering the telephone and serving
customers at the desk in a pleasant and helpful manner.
2. Responsible for working at scheduled times or finding
a qualified substitute.
3. Responsible for knowing all events and activities held
in the Athletic Center during scheduled work times.
4. Responsible for keeping cabinets, counter and desk
neat and organized.
5. Responsible for attending all meetings scheduled by
the Building Manager.
6. Responsible for all recreation equipment inventory
and supervision.
7. Report all injuries, vandalism, equipment needs, or
any problems to the Building Manager.
8. Responsible for enforcing all building rules and policies
to the building users.
9. Responsible for communications with coaches, students,
faculty /staff, community recreation members and PE instructors
in a professional manner to maintain a positive and fun
working environment.
10. Responsible for performing other assigned duties as
required by the Building Manager.

Title: Intramural Sports Official
Job Location: Athletic Sports Complex
and Fields
Pay Rate: $8.00/hour
Range of Possible Scheduled Hours: (3pm-12am
Mon-Thurs) & (Noon-7pm Sat & Sun)
Supervisor: Intramural Coordinator &
Student Supervisors
Minimum
Qualifications:
-Student must have effective verbal and written communication
skills.
-Flexible work schedule to meet program needs.
-General knowledge of sport specific rules.
Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Prefer to hire student who has experience working with
customer service industry and knowledge of officiating.

General Responsibilities:
The Intramural Sports Official reports to the Intramural
Coordinator and shall assist the Intramural Student Supervisors
with the administration of the Intramural Sports Program.
Specific
Duties:
1. Responsible for working at scheduled times or finding
a substitute.
2. Responsible for attending all meetings scheduled by
the Intramural Coordinator
3. Assist with the equipment set up and take down during
work shifts.
4. Report all injuries, vandalism, equipment needs, or
any problems to the Intramural Supervisors.
5. Responsible for enforcing all intramural rules and
policies with the participants.
6. Responsible for developing a good rapport and strong
communications between yourself and the participants.
7. Responsible for communications with participants, fellow
officials, score keepers, supervisors, Brown Intramural
staff, and the Intramural Coordinator in a professional
manner to maintain a positive and fun working environment.
8. Responsible for sharing suggestions, ideas, equipment
needs, etc. with IM support staff.
9. Take pride in the Brown University Intramural Program,
maintain a positive, cooperative, customer service oriented
attitude and contribute to a successful program.
10. Responsible for promoting the Intramural Sports Program.
11. Responsible for performing other assigned duties as
required by the intramural supervisors and/or Intramural
Coordinator. |
