OMAC
Get unlimited access to the OMAC which has a 6 Lane Running Track, 3 Basketball Courts, Volleyball Court, Badminton Courts, Free Weight Room, Cardio & Cybex Equipment Area, Aerobic/Dance Studio, Men's & Women's Locker Rooms & Showers. More info HERE
Bear's Lair
New to Pre-College is access to the Bear's Lair, a satellite fitness center located in the basement of Graduate Tower E on the corner of Thayer and Charlesfield Streets. The Bears Lair has Treadmills, Ellipticals, Spin Bikes as well as free weights and machine defined equipment. More info HERE
PE Classes
The athletics department will be offering some classes exclusively for Pre-College students. Make sure to take advantage of the following classes:
Zumba: An aerobics dance class that combines pop, hip-hop, and Latin styles to create a fun and exciting workout. Zumba is sure to get you to lose weight, tone up, and feel great! No dance experience needed.
Pilates: Build a longer, leaner physique with Pilates mat work. The Pilates method helps to lengthen and strengthen muscles and balance the musculoskeletal system. The exercises focus on core strength, torso stability, and mobility of the limbs. Pilates practice will improve your posture, body awareness, strength, flexibility, and balance.
Spinning: An endurance-building ride through hill and flat terrain,with an emphasis on the climb. Increase your strength and stamina and FEEL the POWER.
Body Sculpting: A strength training full body workout that combines flexibility and cardiovascular conditioning using just dumbbells. It is designed to shape and tone the body without building muscular size or bulk. Sculpting is highly recommended to those enrolled in a weight loss program because it helps retain lean muscle tissue while boosting metabolism and preventing osteoporosis. Any fitness level can enroll.
Yoga: No previous experience in yoga or related disciplines is required for you to begin to experience undeniable benefits almost immediately. These benefits include peace of mind, deeper sense of security and optimism, heightened sense of self, improved concentration, mental and emotional control, expanded awareness and sensitivity, and in general, a revitalized and balanced mind, body and spirit.
Intramural Sports Drop In
Every day Monday - Friday from 4pm to 7pm a PE staff member will be at the OMAC and at Pembroke field helping organize some friendly drop in intramural games. Come to the OMAC or Pembroke field and play some 3v3 basketball, 5v5 basketball, volleyball, indoor/ outdoor soccer, dodgeball, etc. If you want to play any other sport just come and we will help organize a game!
