I've recently moved to Somerville with
fellow disco alums Whitney "Quackos" Kakos '00 and Betsy
Stubblefield '98.5. I see Brown alums everywhere, every day. There are now
six, count em, six Brown alums who play for Lady Godiva here in Boston,
and we're definitely the youth and wheels of the team. We're emabarking on
another season of defending the national title after a hard-fought victory
over Fury of 17-16 at sunset last year. This year, qualification for next
summer's World Championships in Finland depends on the claiming of the
national championship. As for life outside of ultimate, I'm working for a
renewable energy and energy conservation company, where I provide
resources and energy modeling services to builders and architects to help
them build better residential buildings (single-family and multi-family).
Then I test the buildings to see how well the builders and architects did.
"Because we often fumble through life, we stumble upon our true
selves" - it's actually my ideal job right now. I got here through
alumni networking, strangely enough. Anyone interested in working in this
field is certainly welcome to contact me, and I can put you in touch with
pretty interesting people. See you all at Huck-a-hunk!

I am currently living in Boston. I spent last year living and working in New Zealand (in the small city
of Dunedin), traveling around that beautiful country
(and playing lots of coed ultimate). After New
Zealand, I returned to the states via Hawaii, where my
boyfriend and I played at Club Worlds with the New
Zealand coed team. That was an amazing experience,
both because of the beautiful locale and the high
level of ultimate we got to play and watch. Our team
actually made it to the quarterfinals, being the only
non-american team to make it to the coed quarters.
After Hawaii I returned to Boston and played the fall
season with a brand new team called Brute Squad.
Here in Boston I work for Tuft-NE Medical Center doing
genetics research of fruit flies- fun stuff!
In a couple of weeks I will be travelling down to
(sunny?) altlanta to play a fun spring tournament with
a bunch of other disco alums, which hopefully will
kick start my training for next season... I am also currently coaching a
brand new college women's team: Brandeis Banshee.
