ALUM NEWS - CLASS OF '02

News from 2003 -

I am in Seattle and about to sign a year long lease on my very own first apartment ("turn on Barbie's mixer and she'll bake a cake!") so it looks like I am here to stay for a while. I just tried to snap up some lat miute tix to Huck a Hunk, but no dice -- looks like being shown up by my proteges will have to wait another year. Though I did get to play in Hingham with C-Bro this summer . . . anybody who makes it west give me an email and we'll find a tournament (srossviles@hotmail.com). Also get in touch with me if anyone wants to put a women's team together for Tempe (AZ in Feb.) or reinstate the Brown Alumni Potlatch team (I've got a ring now, so there's no limit-- Ted and Scoops, you guys are alumnae too).
Days find me teaching kids with significant disabilities in an afterschool program and nights find me cooking, cooking, cooking and throwing, throwing, throwing. I took this season off from club because of all the moving, but did volunteer to be the NW regional coordinator. Helping out the UPA in this manner is a fulfilling and self-sacrificing experience (which I will have again next year since you have to volunteer for two). The tournament was actually much easier than the three weeks of testy emails leading up to it hinted it would be. If the cataterer had just cooked the 600 burritoes we delivered to the fields everything would have been smashing. Well, learn form your mistakes.
Best of luck to all things disco -- I will try to make it down for Standford, but I am a working girl now so no promises. But, did somebody say Nationals in Seattle '04? Come right over, I have about 10' of carpet space. Just make sure NE regionals are before NW ones so you guys can make the claim before Ben's UofO ducks). -11/05/03

I'm in Vermont for three more days, spent the summer as support staff at a rocking girls camp (Lydia Pecker's old camp) making crafty stuff, and leading wilderness trips.. (playing a little disc with some current players at Carleton, Columbia and UC-Santa Cruz..)
As of Monday, I'll be living in Syracuse, NY and am looking for a team to hook up with there, or at least a casual place to play.. My address will be 207 Fellows Ave, Syracuse NY 13210. My best to the team, Cortney
