News from 2003 -

I am living at home in Sunny Los Angeles, eating my parents food and sleeping in a big bed. Every morning during the week i drive 15 min down to UCLA, walk into a lab and pretend to work for the next 8 hours. Sometimes there are things to be done, and other times there aren't. Unfortunately there aren't any great animal stories to tell... but i am learning how to play with mice. Hopefully one day i'll have the opportunity to skin one (or not).
Besides that i'm living life to the fullest. When I'm not driving through the valley on my cell phone or at the mall, i'm usually playing summer league, or hanging out at the beach. I'm trying to regain the tan that i lost after 4 years in RI. I've thought about joining a coed club team, but we'll see how my ankles hold out (it's tought being old).
Anyways, I hope everyone has had a great summer whether you're in PVD or China. Next time any of you happen to be in LA drop me a line. Hopefully I'll be out east numerous times this upcoming winter for all the Med School interviews I'm going to get (let's hope). Who knows... i could end back at Brown.
Miss you all so much.
Love, Bubbers

right now, i am working at the beauvoir school summer camp in washington, dc. beauvoir is the elementary school (PK-3rd) at the washington national cathedral, part of the same group of schools as st. albans and ncs (which are slightly famous as the schools the gore children attended). so i知 teaching *fun* science to 4-9 year olds... camp ends august 1, but i will be back at beauvoir at the end of august, beginning my year (or possibly two) as an associate teacher there. probably i値l be teaching 3rd grade, but that痴 not 100% certain quite yet... although i still have no clear idea what i want to do career-wise in the long run, I知 pretty sure i want to do something with kids. so this will give me some valuable experience working with children that will be useful whether I stay in teaching, go into pediatrics, or pursue child psychology or counseling. of course, i知 not ruling out the possibility that i値l do something totally different ) a quick blurb for the frisbee folks and those interested in my frisbee happenings last week, after a lot of thinking, i decided not to play club frisbee with bnogo this fall. mostly due to a gut feeling that my body and mind needed a break from super-competitive ultimate and a chance to adjust to life after college and a new job. so i値l be playing in summer and fall leagues, but unfortunately this means fewer chances to see some of you. but since i am still quite close to pvd and boston, i definitely expect to be back in the northeast at hhbp, if not before. so that痴 pretty much all the news for now.... i'd love to hear from those of you who i haven't spoken with in a while--let me know what you're up to!
