Plane Strain Problem in Elastically-Rigid Finite Plasticity

A theory of elastically-rigid finite deformation plasticity, with an emphasis on the role of material symmetry, will be presented. In particular, it will be shown that the fields describing lattice rotation, dislocation density, and plastic spin cannot be ignored for materials with discrete symmetry group. By incorporating these fields we will be lead to an extension of the classical characteristic theory of the plane strain anisotropic problem. Several results from the ensuing slip line theory will be finally presented.
