Mechanics in Materials Science
Coatings play a critical role in a great many important areas of technology. This symposium solicits contributions describing advancements in coating technology including new applications methods, new process diagnostics, new coating compositions, microstructures, applications and advancements in the fundamental understanding of the coating process and behavior by modeling or experiments. Some examples of coatings types appropriate to this symposium are thermal barrier coatings, environmental barrier coatings, hard coatings and functional coatings.
