(23)Introduction to Sexual Reproduction
Before you begin to manipulate genes of somatic and germ line cells, you first must understand the basic concepts that explain how an organism inherits genes from the prior generation. Sexual Reproduction allows two parents to "pass on" their traits to their offspring, so that half of the child's genetic material comes from each parent. This process of genetic recombination produces individuals with unique genetic expression and unique DNA sequences.
