What happens when normal contraception methods fail?

Perhaps she skipped a pill. Perhaps a condom broke. Or maybe a woman was raped. Or her diaphragm slipped.

There are options available for women who do not want to carry on with a pregnancy!

 
   
 

Within 72 hours of intercourse, a woman can take what is commonly known as the "Morning After Pill" which works to delay ovulation to prevent pregnancy.

 

 

 

 

If the "Morning after Pill" fails, or if the woman is already pregnant, there is now a drug approved by the FDA called Mifeprostone, or RU486, that will work to abort the fetus within 49 days.
