What positions did you hold before your current position (what
other jobs led you to where you are now)? Professor of Medical Science. From working in
different areas of biology allowed me to put together new ideas. Favorite: Big and small challenges to solve problems. Drawbacks: 1. Working against time to meet deadlines.
2. Paperwork to get funding. What advice do you have for someone who is thinking
about pursuing a career in your area? First, get a solid background in physical sciences.
Second, get a good mentor. What do you look for in a potential job candidate/ what
qualities are most important for someone in your field? Interest, Initiative, independence, and ability to work in
a team.
