What are your
favorite aspects of you job? What are the drawbacks?
Brown Students. . .
they are fabulous and it is wonderful to be in a community in which they
comprise the majority. My "ability to contribute" is as
high in this job as in any I know of. Teaching is a great and
continuous learning process.
Drawbacks: faculty
meetings. Universities pay poorly and are terribly managed
What advice do you
have for someone who is thinking about pursuing a career in your area?
I like the idea of
moving back and forth between academia and industry... because each
prepares you to do better in the other
What do you look for in a potential job candidate/ what qualities are
most important for someone in your field?
Integrity,
intelligence, communication skills, appreciation for diversity, ability
to set your own standards, communication skills, diligence
