Northern Mockingbird Mimus polyglottos

What's in a name? In this case the scientific name tells you a LOT about mocking birds. Easy to tell by its flashy white wing bars when it flies and by its long, complex repeating songs. Mockers sing during the day and are territorial. That means you can find them by using your ears the first time and then go back repeatedly to see what they are up to. There has been one singing each year in the vicinity of Pembroke Field.
