Cryptosporidiosis (gallbladder)

This section from the gall bladder shows small organisms adjacent to mucosal epithelial cells. Diarrhea

can be caused by Cryptosporidium species and can be severe in immunodeficient hosts. In such hosts

papillary stenosis, sclerosing cholangitis, or cholecystitis can result from involvement of the biliary tract.
