Alcoholic hepatitis
These photos from a case of acute alcoholic hepatitis show the characteristic but nonspecific findings of
Mallory bodies (arrows), steatosis, and an inflammatory infiltrate. Mallory bodies (“alcoholic hyalin”)
are cytoplasmic inclusions formed by accumulations of keratin intermediate filaments.
